1. Agreement
ClaimLight (claimlight.io) is operated by Pacific Clinical Solutions LLC ("PCS", "we", "us"). By using the site, creating an account or buying access, you agree to these terms. If you use the site for an organization, you agree for it and confirm you may bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. What the site is
ClaimLight reports statistics about services billed to Original Medicare Part B fee-for-service, built from public files published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other public reference files listed on the About page. Figures are labeled as reported (a CMS field), calculated (derived by us from CMS rows without assumptions) or estimated (using stated assumptions, shown only for specialties and areas, never for a named provider or organization). Formulas are on the methodology page.
- The figures cover traditional Medicare only. They leave out Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, commercial insurance and self-pay patients.
- Medicare pays the billing entity. A figure is not what any clinician is paid.
- Figures and ranks describe billing in public data. They are not a judgement about any provider's skill, quality, conduct or care.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services or the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
3. Uses that are not allowed
You may not use the site, or any figure, rank, list, export or report from it, as a factor in deciding a person's eligibility for employment, credentialing, insurance, tenant screening or credit. That includes hiring, recruiting or evaluating specific physicians or practitioners for a position, promotion, retention, credentialing or privileging, insurance underwriting, rating or coverage, screening a tenant, and extending or reviewing credit.
The data is not collected, assembled or sold for any of those purposes. Pacific Clinical Solutions LLC is not a consumer reporting agency, and nothing on the site is a consumer report. Professional subscriptions, when offered, ask for your role and intended use at signup and are not available for evaluating specific physicians for recruiting or hiring.
You also may not:
- try to identify, contact or learn anything about any patient or Medicare beneficiary;
- harass, threaten or publicly target any provider using material from the site;
- copy the site or its data in bulk, by script, crawler or any automated means, except the search-engine indexing that robots.txt allows;
- resell, sublicense or republish gated figures, reports or exports, or share an account;
- get around a lock, rate limit or access control, or interfere with the site's operation or security;
- present the site, or anything derived from it, as published, endorsed or checked by CMS, HHS or any government agency.
We may suspend or close an account, without refund of the current access period, if it is used for any of these.
4. Accounts
Sign-in is by a one-time link sent to your email address; there is no password. An account is for one person. Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us at ben@claimlight.io if you think someone else has used your account.
5. Purchases and access periods
Two products are sold today. Each is a one-time payment for 12 months of access that does not renew:
- Physician Report, $19: One physician's report: exact Medicare payment figures, calculated Medicare fee-for-service work RVUs, history and peer comparisons, for 12 months. Physician Report, one-time payment, does not renew.
- Market Comparison, $79: One specialty in one market: each cohort member's figures and rank, the distribution, percentiles and trend, plus the full report of a selected physician who is in that market, for 12 months. Market Comparison, one-time payment, does not renew.
A purchase covers only its scope. A Physician Report covers the one physician selected. A Market Comparison covers the one specialty in the one market selected, and the full Physician Report of the physician selected at checkout when that physician is in that market. Filters, comparisons and downloads stay within that scope. Before you pay, checkout shows the physician, or the specialty and market with its boundary, the data years actually available, what is included, any known coverage limitation, the 12-month access period and the final price. If a report cannot deliver its analysis, checkout says so and does not take payment.
"12 months" runs from the moment payment is confirmed. Checkout and the receipt list the CMS data years included at purchase. A CMS data year released during your access window is included for the rest of the window at no charge. Access is personal to the buyer's account. A purchase gives no right to claim or edit a provider page, and claiming a page or verifying an NPI gives no access to a report.
Bought a Physician Report (or an earlier Provider unlock)? While it is active and not refunded, the amount you paid for it, before any tax, counts toward one Market Comparison of a specialty and market that includes that physician: at today's prices ($19 paid) you pay $60 more, and checkout shows your exact credit and balance before you pay. One report gives one credit, credits do not combine, and the report you bought stays active.
Neither product requires NPI verification. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store card numbers. Prices are in U.S. dollars. No tax is added at checkout today; if that changes, checkout shows any tax before you pay.
Products bought before these went on sale (Provider unlock, Local report, Market Report, 30-day pass, 12-month access) keep the scope, access period and refund terms they were sold with. Physician pricing on the Local report, Market Report, 30-day pass and 12-month access required a verified physician or advanced practice provider NPI; that check set the price and did not decide what you may use the data for, which section 3 does.
6. Digital delivery and refunds
Access starts as soon as payment is confirmed. Delivered reports and access are final sale for change-of-mind requests. We fix or refund duplicate charges, failed access or delivery, and material differences between what was described and what was delivered, and we provide any remedy the law requires.
To ask for a fix or a refund on any of those grounds, use Support or write to ben@claimlight.io from the account's email address. We reply by email and record the outcome. When a purchase is refunded in full, the access from it ends. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under the law that applies to you.
Purchases of the earlier products listed in section 5 keep their refund: within 7 days of purchase, no questions asked, from the Refund button on your account page or by writing to us; when that purchase's report credit is reserved for a checkout or has been used, the refund goes through support. A subscription, when one is offered, can be cancelled at any time in the billing portal; access continues to the end of the period already paid, with no prorated refund. 7. Claimed pages and provider-supplied content
A clinician can claim their page (Claim your page). An edit-level claimant can add a statement, a practice website and contact details, which are shown as provider-supplied, and can choose whether the street address shows. You are responsible for what you add, and you confirm it is accurate and yours to share. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it on the site until you remove it. We may remove provider-supplied content that is inaccurate, promotional beyond a practice description, or against these terms. No claim changes any figure, and a claim shows no figures; those are in a report.
8. Corrections
If something is wrong, use the corrections form or write to corrections@claimlight.io. Errors in CMS's own figures are corrected at the source, and we show the route. Errors we introduced are fixed through logged overrides or method changes, with a target of 10 business days.
9. Content and license
The CMS files themselves are U.S. government works. Our calculations, ranks, selection and arrangement, text, design, software and the ClaimLight name and logo belong to Pacific Clinical Solutions LLC. We give you a limited, non-transferable license to view the site and use what you unlock for your own work or your organization's internal work, within section 3. When you quote a figure, cite it as "ClaimLight analysis of CMS Medicare Part B data" with the data year.
10. No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". Public files contain errors and gaps, CMS suppresses small counts, and our matching and calculations can be wrong. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing on the site is medical, legal, tax, financial or career advice.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Pacific Clinical Solutions LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or opportunities, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 U.S. dollars.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Pacific Clinical Solutions LLC against claims by others arising from your breach of these terms, including any use section 3 does not allow, or from content you add to a claimed page.
13. Changes and ending
We may change these terms; the new text is posted here with a new effective date, and material changes are emailed to account holders. Changes do not reduce an access period already bought. You can stop using the site at any time and ask us to delete your account (see Privacy). We may end access for a breach of these terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawai‘i, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute is decided in the state and federal courts located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
